What a colosol pile of the crap! I swear Alex Garland is such an over rated director, not that he doesn't make good films but the stories just seem to veer off into strange directions and never fully reach any definitive closure...and yes that is a bad thing especially when we the public are almost irked into going to see them as the marketing and promotions for them are always pushed as typical, but the experiences rarely matches the hype. Thank goodness he retired!
4...The result is a film that not only misses the mark but leaves the audience questioning how such a misguided project ever saw the light of day. In conclusion, "Krippendorf's Tribe" is a regrettable stain on the cinematic landscape. Its cultural misappropriation, lackluster casting, and feeble attempts at humor make it a prime example of how not to create a film. This movie serves as a stark reminder that even entertainment giants like Disney can stumble into the realm of insensitivity and creative bankruptcy. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this cinematic travesty.
3...Disney, a powerhouse in the entertainment industry, should be held to a higher standard. However, "Krippendorf's Tribe" demonstrates a shocking disregard for the responsibility that comes with representing diverse cultures. The film's careless approach to cultural sensitivity reflects a lack of awareness and a willingness to exploit for the sake of misguided comedy. Beyond its cultural faux pas, the film fails on a fundamental level of storytelling. The narrative is a feeble attempt at humor, relying on tired tropes and simplistic gags. Any potential for meaningful exploration of the complex issues it introduces is squandered in favor of cheap laughs that rarely land...
2...One of the cardinal sins committed by this cinematic catastrophe is its woeful casting choices. Instead of embracing authenticity and providing a platform for Papua New Guinean talent, the filmmakers opted for a cast that predominantly lacks any real connection to the culture they clumsily attempt to depict. This decision not only reeks of missed opportunities but also adds insult to injury by sidelining genuine voices in favor of Hollywood convenience...
1 - "Krippendorf's Tribe" is nothing short of a cringe-inducing exercise in cultural misappropriation and cinematic incompetence. From the outset, the movie's portrayal of a fictional tribe in Papua New Guinea reeks of lazy stereotypes and insensitivity. This ill-conceived attempt at humor not only falls flat but actively perpetuates harmful clichés about indigenous communities. It's a shame that in the 21st century, a film of this nature could make it past the drawing board...
In an era where pop culture often promotes a superficial attitude towards blockbuster movies, James Cameron's Avatar 2: The Way of Water transcends the boundaries of mere entertainment and becomes a profound philosophical conversation. It is disheartening to witness how some individuals dismiss the visionary filmmaking of Cameron and fail to recognize the depth and significance of the Avatar saga. Furthermore, the impatience of Generation Y and their inability to grasp the genius within this film is indicative of a privileged and spineless mindset that overlooks the lasting impact and importance of this space saga. Avatar 2 goes beyond the confines of a typical blockbuster, delving into intricate plots, layered subplots, and a compelling narrative. Each plot point intertwines seamlessly to create a tapestry of interconnected storylines, leading viewers through a journey that explores not only the external conflicts but also the internal struggles of its characters. The film's narr
Best Comedy Series Out There today, Hands Down! If you love or appreciate Always Sunny in Philadelphia then you will like this series..a lot! The Quarantine Special at the end of season 1, is definitely a GREAT Episode! Season 2 just started, and it is already as classic as the first!!
Not bad...not bad at all! Jamie Foxx's Netflix Comedy series is a good series with a slick cast with usual comedy hijinks that can be expected from the family-friendly TV series original Netflix content that most will be familiar with. The only low point, in my opinion, is Foxx himself playing multiple characters on screen. Definitely someone wants to relive their sketch comedy days from In Living Color. Otherwise, Recommended viewing!
What an exceptional Movie! I was pleasantly surprised with not only the almost
avant-garde animation but the story meshed with the superior songs and vocal performances from the cast, especially Arlo were surprisingly haunting, poetic, and very enjoyable. The allegorical representation of the mixed-up hybrid animals standing in for children of mixed minorities, gender, and creed really worked and though the story did not follow the atypical children's animated musical movie, the message remained the same. What a great effort, all parents should let their kids watch this memorable, heartwarming, head-bobbing musical! 10/10
Could have been better...Snyder may have peaked years ago, as this is definitely not one of his best works. period. I can see why WB might have passed on this project...it seems too loose. Don't get me wrong it is an okay flick, but it could definitely have been executed a bit more masterfully...when you look at the style of 300, Army just does not stand up to that. maybe the prequel series and animated series will fill some of the gaps...hits a misses galore here.
Josh Ruben's horror movie Scare Me features a unique forms of storytelling that goes beyond the expectations of anthologies and their tropes. Released on Shudder for their 61 Days Of Halloween programming in 2020, the movie follows Fred (Josh Ruben) and Fanny (Aya Cash) in a cabin in the woods telling each other stories. As they shift from monsters to ghostly grandpas, Scare Me finds the two horror novelists growing more creative and their relationship increasingly volatile.
Scare Me includes three short stories that are contained within its primary story arc. It resembles other horror anthologies such as Tales From The Hood and Creepshow. The three movies follow the framework of having a primary storyteller or storytellers as they relay information about a horrific event that is then shown to the audience as a film short. As these types of anthological tales progress, it's common that they reveal that each horror story is connected in some way or another. A Good Movie.
