This is a rip roaring black comedy shoot-em-up which is perfect for Bob Odenkirk, makes sense as he co-wrote the screenplay. His character will remind you of Hutch Mansell from Nobody 2021, apart from being played by the same actor, they both come with baggage from a previous life. Ulysses (Odenkirk) is temporally serving as sheriff of a small town called Normal. He is suspicious about the weird death of the previous sheriff along with the unusually large number of firearms and explosives held in the police station. There are other clues about the town that things are not what they seem. The black comedy is funny, take note of what happens after one character says 'Think this is a good omen right?' For the first 33 minutes, you are introduced to the town and its characters, then all hell breaks loose in when the silent alarm of the local bank is triggered in the police station. Recommended, the 1K file I downloaded was very good quality.
Brilliant supernatural horror, enjoyed it immensely. Adam Scott is perfect in this role as the rude and unlikeable writer (Ohm) who travels to the Republic of Ireland to lay his parents ashes in the woods near the Hotel where they spent their honeymoon. Needless to say, the hotel is meant to be haunted and there is a backstory to Ohm's life that reveals itself during the course of the film. I was pleasantly surprised by this somewhat creepy film and I recommend it for a good evening in with chills running down your spine. The picture and audio of the 1K file I downloaded was very good.
All round Guy Richie action film that focuses on an elite team of lawyer and combat operatives who work 'In the Grey' and under the radar. The team is tasked with recovering a huge debt from the rich and ruthless Manny Salazar who is not keen to cough up what he owes. There is a bit more to it than that of course but the legal court strategy's along with SAS style combat, gunfights and explosions make this an enjoyable show. Not to be taken seriously of course, your suspension of disbelief will be brought into play. Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González are all believable in their roles and pleasing to watch. The 4K file I downloaded was of excellent quality.
The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favourite films, I probably watch it once a year. Okay, 2 is not as good as the original but it is a worthy sequel and the music is great. Times have changed for Runway; it is not the magazine it once was and has been forced to produce its content for digital download. Miranda Priestly can no longer get away with her bullying tactics and has had to adapt. Andrea Sachs who once worked at Runway is a journalist who is offered a position by the owner of the magazine to restore its credibility after Miranda published an article about a brand using sweatshop labour. This of course is only the beginning and what happens is pretty familiar and similar to the original film in many respects. As in the original there are a few cameos, the usual cheeky wit by Emily (Blunt), fashion shows, betrayal and the story moves along at a good and entertaining pace. These are four beloved actors returning to rolls they played twenty years ago and it all works well.
This is an excellent film that really captures the atmosphere of the Nuremberg trials after the second world war. Russell Crowe is superbly cast as Hermann Göring and he plays it up to great effect. He is supported by Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Leo Woodall, Colin Hanks, John Slattery and Richard E. Grant who all deliver good performances. The film is quite accurate historically (nice for a change) and revolves around Dr. Douglas Kelley (Malek) who as the chief psychiatrist is tasked with analysing Göring before the trial to ascertain his competency. Of course, he sees how intelligent Göring is and is not fooled by his tricks. As one reviewer has already mentioned, this is a warning from history and we should all pay attention. Highly recommended, and the 4K file I downloaded was great quality.
Okay, it’s not a great show. I quite like Kaya Scodelario, but her talents are wasted in this. The story is all too familiar; a good intentioned couple do something they shouldn’t to protect their family and it spirals way out of control. There is some tension and drama but no real comedy, and you can predict the outcome a long way off. That IMDB 5.5 score is reasonably accurate, and while I am not saying you shouldn’t watch it, I could not recommend it. The 1K file I downloaded was good quality.
This is a familiar light hearted action movie in the same scope of National Treasure, Indianna Jones, The Da Vinci Code and even Tomb Raider. It's an enjoyable show as long as you don't take it seriously. John Krasinski and Natalie Portman are not at their performing best as it is also a bit of a comedy, and I am assuming that is the way Guy Ritchie and Apple wanted it. Decent enough family film that will certainly not tax your intelligence. The 4K file I downloaded was very good.
Excellent spy thriller series, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and am looking forward to season two. Great storyline and well-defined characters. Suburb cast and great acting from Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston and Richard Gere. It’s not an overly complicated plot but you’d be advised to pay attention. In short, one of the London based CIA operatives has been caught and it is the agency’s job to get them back. Easier said than done of course. Highly recommended. The 1K files I downloaded were good quality.
This is a brilliant and complex thriller with many twists and turns. However, you need to pay close attention and follow the story or you will get lost. Great acting from a stellar cast, particularly Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett. Pierce Brosnan and Naomie Harris have smaller roles but are just as convincing, as are all the cast. The story comes together eventually but you are kept guessing up until the end, and it does not disappoint. Highly recommended, I enjoyed it from start to finish. The quality of the 1K Web file I downloaded was pretty good.
Excellent conceptual science fiction This is based on a short story by Philip K. Dxxx, and while the book is very different, this cyberpunk style film interpretation is excellent. The concept of precrime and the individuals or precogs who predict it is brilliantly done and the visual world is stunning. The film raises numerous questions about free will, involuntary commitment and determinism. All well-presented and explained. There is great action and the build up to one particularly tense scene is superbly executed. Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, this is one of my favourite films and well worth watching, highly recommended. The quality of the 4K Web file I downloaded was very good.
Brilliant and complex spy thriller series with plenty of action. Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw are expertly cast in this modern adult story. Great acting from both along with the rest of the cast. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, I have just one episode left to watch and looking forward to it. Highly recommended.
While this film has received a lot of critical acclaim, I have to be honest and simply report that I did not enjoy it at all. It was directed and co-written by Brady Corbet and is dull, depressing and tragic from start to finish. I found myself checking how long there was to go more than five times during its three hours and twenty minutes runtime. Having said all that, the performances by Adrian Brody, Felicity Jones and the rest of the cast are all good, everyone commits to their respective roles but this cannot rescue the film from such an inadequate story. The main theme of this film is about the European holocaust during the second world war and architecture, I cannot say any more than that without running into a spoiler. If you are a fan of Adrian Brody then you might want to watch this but I honestly cannot recommend it. The picture and audio of the 1K file I downloaded was fine.
You will probably empathise with the situation Justin Kemp finds himself in. The tragedy of this more than meets the eye legal drama is revealed inside the first 20 minutes and sets the tone for the whole story. This is an enjoyable show, and I agree that there is a fair bit of 12 Angry Men in this tale, it is easy to identify several characters similar to those in that story. The film also shines a light on the flaws with the United States legal system, and I imagine this is something Eastwood intended. Just keep in mind that it is a film, and films are not real life, there are always liberties taken with the science and legal points. The film is a slow burner but keeps you interested and all the cast are good in their roles. It was interesting to see Collette and Hoult in a film together after they played mother and son in About a Boy 22 years ago. If you like courtroom drama and the direction of Clint Eastwood, then you will like this. Recommended.
Scott Ryan is great in this role, as is everyone else, great black humour and a thoroughly enjoyable series. He plays a real anti-hero hidden in plain sight. I agree it is a pity there is only three seasons. Highly recommended.
While the acting was good and Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dxxxxx and Harvey Scrimshaw all commit to their roles, the story never gripped me, and I found myself checking how long there was still to run more than once. You get a really depressing sense of what it may have been like to have lived at such a time. The whole family's existence is wasted on the blind faith of their religion and it dominates their lives. They live in a world of superstition where witches, gods and demons exist and it holds them in fear and mistrust of each other. I'm not saying it isn't worth watching, but like so many others who have commented, I think it has been over hyped and I could not give it more than a 5/10. The video and sound of the 1K file was very good.
